We seek to follow Jesus Christ. The Church of Christ in Montrose desires to be a church of influence by Love, Growth and Service in the community, our nation and the world.
Every Sunday morning at 10am for Worship & Communion
Chin Service – (VNCC)
Every Sunday afternoon 1.30pm
We have instituted some minor changes in our worship service to comply with the regulations specified by the Government to help control the community spread of this virus. Our goal in doing so is to protect our families, and the community around us.
Ignite Kids – We are passionate about discipling the next generation to be committed followers of Jesus. Our “Ignite Kids” pre-school and primary programs are currently run together, with a range of activities to suit all ages from 2 years up to Grade 6. It is a safe and friendly program that aims to bring God alive in a fun and relevant way. The program is based on resources from our ‘kidswise’ subscription and runs each Sunday, with a short break over the January school holiday period.
Youth – We look forward to commencing a local youth group in the near future for those of our kids who are heading into senior school. It will be a fun, active and intentional time for growing relationships, teaching a strong biblical world view and exploring deeper questions.
Life Groups – We believe that life is a journey that is best when shared together, and in following Christ we are not called to do this alone. We have a number of small groups who meet together during the week around God’s word and in prayer together. They are important opportunities of friendship, learning and sharing. If you call Church of Christ Montrose home we would urge you to join a small group, please get in touch with our pastor Alan.
Montrose Food Network – In partnership with Second Bite and Montrose Primary School, this is an opportunity for families and households who would benefit from collecting some extra fresh produce and fridge/pantry items to alleviate a tight budget. Open to all in our local community and surrounds, the Food Network operates every Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm at the church. It is a welcoming space and a valuable time of connection and provision.
Singalong – Is a program for people with disability. For over 27 years local centres have transported friends to our facility, and enjoyed singing, games and morning tea. The grade sixers from Montrose Primary School participate in the program 2-3 times as a community service in the final year of primary school. They are referred to as the (M.A.D.) and they really do “Make a Difference”.
Prayer – A strategic part of our renewal is due to prayer. Eunice Reidy facilitates a Pastoral Care and the prayer chain. On Saturday mornings at 8am there is a prayer meet on zoom. Friday Life group covers the community with concerted prayer and we have taken seriously prayer walking our community. We encourage our community to pray for revival, because the Kingdom is not in words, but in power!
